Based on the best-selling novel by Christopher Buckley, THANK YOU FOR SMOKING is a satirical and daring expose of the tobacco corporations, and their unenviable PR task that, until recently, Nick Naylor breezed through. Witty, fast talking and devilishly charming, Nick is viewed by some as Satan himself - able to counter any argument against his employers, 'Big Tobacco', with a smart-alecky retort or an ingenious spin. Times are changing however, and the corporations feel that the tobacco PR machine is finished. With scientific research making it almost impossible to deny tobacco's deadly danger and the Marlboro Man himself in point of death and ready to tell all, Nick, striving to become a better role model for his twelve year old son, finds his career hanging in the balance. But it's always going to be tough to have a conscience when your two best friends are a gun advocate and an alcohol lobbyist.
